As written in the sacred scripture of S rimad Bhagvatam , the city of Dwaraka was built due to the constant attack on Mathura by the ruler of Magadha, Jarasandha.To prevent further attacks on his clan, Lord Krishna decided to have a separate city on the western coast of India.
